Visual Arts Program

Visual art session at an easel
Easel painting — one of our core visual-arts activities.
Colorful paints and palettes
Rich palettes and sensory materials support creativity.
Senior participant painting
Participants develop their own painting practice.
Ceramics and hands-on crafts
Ceramics and clay work — tactile, rewarding, expressive.

Our visual arts studio is open five days a week. No prior experience is required – just curiosity and a willingness to get your hands a little messy.

Studio culture

Our visual arts program is built on the principle that every participant is an artist. Projects are adapted to each participant’s physical and cognitive abilities. Larger brushes, built-up grips and table-top easels keep materials accessible. A rotating staff of arts instructors provides both structured lessons and open-studio time.

Each spring and fall, we host a participant art exhibition where every artist shares a finished piece. Family members and community members are invited to view and celebrate the work.
